Terms of Service

By creating an account or using CivicFlow in any way, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

CivicFlow is operated by the CivicFlow team. These terms form a binding agreement between you and CivicFlow.

You must provide accurate and complete information when registering. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You must be at least 13 years old to use CivicFlow. If you are under 18, you should have the permission of a parent or guardian.

You may not create an account on behalf of someone else without their authorisation.

CivicFlow exists to support honest, constructive civic engagement. When using the platform you agree to:

• Submit civic reports that are truthful and based on real observations or experiences.
• Treat other community members, leaders, and volunteers with respect.
• Provide accurate location information so that issues can be properly assigned and resolved.
• Update or correct your reports if you discover the information was inaccurate.

You retain ownership of the content you post on CivicFlow - including issue reports, comments, and photos. By posting content, you grant CivicFlow a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, distribute, and use that content within the platform and in communications about CivicFlow's impact (such as reports or press releases).

You are solely responsible for the content you post. Do not post content that you do not have the right to share.

CivicFlow may remove any content that violates these Terms or our community standards without prior notice.

You may not use CivicFlow to:

• Submit false, misleading, or fabricated civic reports.
• File false emergency reports that could divert emergency services.
• Harass, threaten, or intimidate other users, community leaders, or government officials.
• Post content that is hateful, discriminatory, or incites violence based on ethnicity, religion, gender, or other protected characteristics.
• Impersonate any person, organisation, or government body.
• Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data from the platform without written permission.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the platform or another user's account.
• Send unsolicited bulk messages or spam to other users.

Violations may result in suspension or permanent removal of your account.

CivicFlow is an information-sharing platform. We do not guarantee that any civic issue you report will be reviewed, acted upon, or resolved by any government body, authority, or community leader. CivicFlow is not a substitute for official emergency services - for life-threatening emergencies, always contact the appropriate emergency services directly.

The platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the platform will be available at all times or free from errors.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, CivicFlow and its team shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of - or inability to use - the platform. Our total liability for any claim arising from these terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (which for free users is zero).

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Kenya. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Kenya.

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will update the effective date at the top of this page when we do. For material changes, we will notify registered users by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of CivicFlow after that date constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
